About the event

Clan of the Brokenhearted | Community Grief Ritual

w/ Michele & Alice | April 24th 5:30pm - 8:30pm

“Our grief does not need healing. Our healing needs our grief.” - Shauna Janz

Grief, loss, isolation, and devastation touch us all. Everything we love we will lose over the course of our lives. Instead of turning away from the sorrows in our hearts, we are offering a grief ritual to move towards our grief together and grow to understand how all sorrows are shared. As we walk through the sacred, tender terrain of grief, we will learn to speak the language of grief and develop endurance as grievers and supporters of grievers.

This ritual is an invitation to welcome everything that comes to us in life, an invitation to welcome sorrows and move through them with conscious awareness and compassion, an invitation to find the medicine of vulnerability, love, and gratitude that lie deep within the waters of grief. It is an invitation to be fully present and alive.

Your guides through this tender terrain are Michele McKinnie (PSY.D) and Alice Buckley. Together, we are tenders of grief with over thirty years of combined experience in psychotherapy and group facilitation. We are committed to offering spaces for our community to explore the grief we so often push down and away. By creating a container to be with our sorrow in the company of others, we are able to deepen our love, appreciation, and aliveness in the world.

May this offering bring medicine to our hearts as we deepen our relationship with sorrow, healing, and renewal within ourselves and the wider world.

Space is limited; fill out this form to reserve your spot and help us get to know you and your hopes for our time together so we can best support our individual and collective needs.
