Women runs with the wolfs

Although over 30 years old, the iconic book Women Who Run with the Wolves by Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estes is still packed with wisdom relevant to our everyday lives. These living stories meet us regardless of what seasons of life we are in and give us new gifts each time we revisit them.

This group is a deep dive looking to move through all 16 chapters of Women Who Run with the Wolves together as a small community. Although reading the book is not necessary to participate, each week we will be discussing the major stories from each chapter, doing an art or movement practice from each chapter to deepen our connections to the stories, and learning from each other about how the stories show up in our own lives.

While this space primarily centers around the lives and stories of women, all who are genuinely interested in learning about and exploring the inner feminine and wild woman archetype are welcome. You do not have to come to all 16 weeks to enjoy this content. If it’s better for your schedule to float in on weeks where certain myths call to you, I welcome that! We all have busy lives and I believe a little bit of myth and community is better than none at all. That being said, I highly recommend the full 16-chapter journey to get the most out of this collection of women’s mythology, as they all build off of each other. Each meet up will cost $15 to accommodate for studio rental fees, refreshments, art supplies, and consistent content construction. If you’re interested in placing an order for a copy of the book ahead of time, I will be placing a bulk order *DECEMBER 20th* and you can pick up your copy on our first meeting. Cost for placing an order will be $25 to cover the book + shipping. If you choose to find your own copy, we will be using the most recent edition (which has the Wolf’s Eyelash poem not present in early editions). Your group facilitator, Dagny Deutchman is an artist, dancer, guide, storyteller, poet, educator, and lifelong learner. Dagny has been an instructor of movement since 2007, a guide since 2008, and an educator since 2014,.

Dagny has mentored in the mythology specific from Women Who Run With The Wolves under mythologist Maria Souza and has been hosting community programs specific to storytelling and self-exploration for over a decade. Dagny identifies as queer and welcomes pushback, discussion, and conversation around the limitations of the 'women-specific' framework of this body of work.
